Mine worked awesome until I pulled the gas tank, the tower and all the upholstery, then reinstalled everything. Every great once in a while it'll give an accurate reading. This is a major drag, especially on the way up towards the sandbar or down at Big River.

There's a transducer mounted in the hull, a transmission line up to the helm where it connects to a pair of Lowrance boxes. The boxes in turn feed depth (and in some models lake temp) to the MMDC. In my case, it's probably either a kinked cable or defective contact, even the I've checked the connections...

I seem to remember trying to find the components on the net without much luck. Maybe Capt. Rick might be able to help us out with a little fault isolation and/or retail on the unit?

Check that your tranducer didn't get knocked around too gr8dna, if the seal was broken between the hull then you will have problems with accurate readings(transducers dont like any air between them and the surface of the boat).  Just a thought...

Happy New Year!!!

My depth gauge works like a champ, but the temp gauge is always wrong. Its usually about 5 degrees to high for water temp and 5 degrees low on air temp.

Mine works well as well....Although, some of the other parts of my "computer" don't work so good, like the air/water temp, and a few other things.  I am going to try and get it repaired at Mrine Produx before my warranty runs out.  Does anyone have everything working on their little guage lcd thingy?

My Air/Water temp has never worked, I just figured that you had to have accuski to make that work. I have water temp now with PP, that's all I need.

I have been poking around the Malibu Boat Owners site lately, there are lots of good tech posts there, I saw a couple pertaining to depth finders there. Same hardware we have.  My depth finder installed by the dealer, the "mechanic" really buggered up my wiring putting it in. I will probably rewire it this winter sometime. I say winter, but I'm going wakeboarding today! It might be a bit chilly, but hey.

This is a link to a place that sells parts to the Lowrance 3500 depth finder that is probably the model used that interfaces to the MMDC. Can't say for sure unless somebody wants to buy one and try it, but this is the one according to the Malibu guys. I think we use the same one.

Mine are quirky, but all work reasonably well.  shawn -- wonder if you have stereo equip (or anything else) near your depth finder?  Magnets might mess it up, maybe.  i dunno...?
