buying an S22
« on: April 20, 2005, 04:54:50 am »
my bro is going to Iowa this weekend to look at and probably drag home the S22 that is on boattrader there. ?Anyone have any pearls of wisdom regarding things to check for, questions to ask, etc...?
It is from a dealer, has about 50 hours on it, he is adding a toyota tower (white, I think), and it will have a new trailer, not sure on the make/model, but it isn't an Ameritrailer. ?The weight distrobution on my Ameritrailer is terrible. ?I think the tongue weight is way high. I'm a pretty cut stallion, and I can barely budge it!!!!
So any input, things we wish we had checked, etc...........

All I can think of is the obvious stuff...TEST DRIVE,check the oil, tranny fluid ,drive without the stereo on,pay attn to how the boat steers, which way it turns in reverse, all the lights, gauges. If it has ballast, make sure it works.Drive with the ballast full & empty.Make sure there is nothing broken on interior(hinges on storage doors or cupholders, also windshield support arms).Mine were busted.Take all of the seat cushions up,look 'em over, & under them as well. Also check the trailer lights, tires brakes, fluid.
  Anyone else?Hope that helps.
