2001--s22 purchase????
« on: May 02, 2005, 13:57:33 pm »
Hi all!

We have been looking at a 2001 S22 with 30 hrs. on it, fresh water only. The hull is perfect as is the interior. The guy will not budge from $22,000. Comes with the usual accessories and Toyota trailer.

The boat has a wake boarding tower. Is this a standard or a option when purchasing the boat?

Thanks in advance, Jim

Good deal. Buy it. The tower on S-22 is not standard but was available as a factory option. Join the club of the few proud Epic owners.

No, I think you should pay double that for half the boat, buy a new BOO or something!!
Just kidding. About buying a Malibut that is. It is twice the boat for half the money, though.

All Epics had a factory tower option. It might also have a boarding package with ballast.

We put a deposit down with the owner today. If everything is ok with the boat after the water test we write a check for the balance.
Got it bought for $21,500 and lots of goodies thrown in.

Be good, Jim&Juli

awesome! Is that a v-drive? If it does not have Perfect Pass, spend the $1K to add it while you've got your checkbook out....

I see it is a vdrive on the boat registry. We go to lake Canidagua(sp) every year with friends who live up that way. I've threatened to take my Epic, but it's a looong way to drive from atlanta, GA....

Don't forget to take pics and post em...

And welcome. This site is all you'll ever need to take care of that baby...

congrats on the sweet deal, but it just goes to prove the rate at which our floating gems are depreciating.  Painful.  I think I'm gonna get out while I can and get a proven brand like Maxxum or Stingray.

Dude, pulling a stingray with your Kia Sportage. It don't get no better than that. You, sir, have an eye for quality and performance.

I don't mean to sound like a moron, but I would love to have pp.   I am just too scared to tear into my boat to do the work.  Can you have it done in a shop somewhere?  I once changed the oil in my 82 Subaru, but the oil was so hot I couldn't get the oil filter off, so I left it on for about 35ooo miles.  I was later told that is why my head gasket warped and I had to keep pouring water in the radiator at every gas fill up.  Eventually the timing belt broke and I crap-canned the car.  So, any idea on having the pp installed by someone other than me?

Marine Products says they can do it if the instructions are provided. Too bad nobody here has taken the time to meticulously document the process. Oh, what was I thinking? We have the whole process right here. If they can't follow these instructions we'd better find a new mechanic.  MP didn't give me a cost.
