Epic 22 Tower for Sale!
« on: June 11, 2005, 19:05:17 pm »
Well I finally sold my Epic 21 to Ramblin Wreck!? Man, it is hard to sell a boat you love!? But it went to great guy who may just be pickier than me!? I know he will be a great owner and a great member to the forum!

The reason I sold my Epic 21 was I bought a 2002 Epic S22.? It was one of the last ones made, low hours and in excellent condition.

It was great for awhile, I had one of the first Epics ever made and one of the very last at the same time.? The wife said two boats was not gonna fly, so the 21 had to go.

I was not worried about finding someone to buy it, I was worried about finding someone who would care?about it!

Anyway, I needed to get some speakers for the tower, so I called New dimensions, the people who built the custom tower for my Epic 21.? While we were talking he said he wished he had an Epic 22 to measure, as he has calls for Custom Epic towers, but has no measurements for the Epic 22, only the 21. I told him I liked the factory tower on the S22 but felt that it looked a little dated.? I told him I preferred the "swooped back" design like the one he built for me previously.? We talked a little bit more and he offered me a great price for a new tower on the S22 just so he could get the dimensions in order to engineer one specifically for the Epic 22.? I could sell the original tower to recoup some of the $$.  It is still lots of $$ just to update your "Look".

So if anyone is looking for a factory Tower for a Epic 22 for less than than the factory price, let me know!? I live in South Carolina and can pack and ship to anywhere.

If and after all this happens, there will be a great looking and specifically engineeered aftermarket wakeboard tower built by New Dimension Towers available to both the Epic 21 and 22 owners.? It will be a great alternative to the "Fits All" towers on the market now.

Does anyone know how much a Factory Epic 22 tower is?

Thanks again,

Breakawaydaze

Don;t know how much the factory tower is, but I have a Monster Tower on my s22 and it fits great and is very sturdy. They are great guys and there shop is in Alpharetta. Might be able to get a better deal if you call them and pick it up. I think retail is $1195. They have great accessories, too. I just got a very nice bimini fro them(Sunbrella)

Check their website: http://www.monstertower.com

Breakawaydaze, so glad to hear we didn't lose you over to the dark side!

One thing I'd like to add is that a tower built for the S22 will only fit an S22, an SX and what they soetimes call an SX-22.

The hull areas where the tower mounts are different on the d-drive 22's. A tower built for the E22 would only fit that and an X22.

I guess I don't know why you would want to lose the factory tower?  I have friends that have put aftermarkets on and they are never as strong and/or sturday as the factory tower.  I am not a tower critic, but the difference in my S22 tower and my previous Moomba tower is night and day.  The S22 tower and Bitzy's  SX tower are rock solid.  I don't think the looks are dated either, unless you are comparing to an illusion-x or something.  Just hang some lights and speakers on it and see what a difference it makes.

You won't find a stiffer or better designed tower for that boat. Putting an aftermarket tower on it will lower the resale, not that that matters because you'll prolly never sell it!

Pete has spoken!  Stay with the factory tower!  Thanks to the forum for bothering to put up with my mindless ideas!  You guys are right, get some speakers and enjoy the boat.  On another note, I hope the Georgia group gets together with Ramblin Wreck on Hartwell sometime this summer.  I wonder what is the largest group of Epics there has ever been together on the same lake?  Maybe we could get together an annual rally!

Thanks again Epicmarine!

That would be Lake Pateros (Washington). I think at one point the total number of Epics was up to two :o!! Cal, how many did you see?

Mr. Festivus and I have been on the lake with an S22 and SX22 tied together. I have also been on a couple of lakes with Epics I didn't know. In Sept, Festivus (S22), his bro (S22), and I (SX) will all be at Bullfrog Marina Lake Powell for a week. Any other epic owners are welcome to make a showing. With the number of Toyotas in Utah, we could set the record. That is if Festivus has found his nut and post and a petcock by then.

Hmmmm- If Cyclone, Lesman and Breakawaydaze do indeed join me at Hartwell over the 4th of July weekend it looks liike we have the record by a slim margin. Competition is healthy! Anyone else?

I should be able to make it, if just for the day. I'm only an hour away from there anyway.
