Drain for observer seat cooler
« on: July 07, 2005, 04:37:39 am »
Does anyone know how to access the the drain for that cooler?I pulled the storage cabinet out & could access the cooler side but not the drain.I can't get to it pulling the battery section of the floor board either.Reason being,my drain is clogged.I've tried using tie-wire,but I think I may need thicker wire.I just don't want to poke through the drain tube with it.Any suggestions???Thanks!

You should be able to see it if you pull the section of floor with the battery in it. It is just a 3/8" vinyl tube that snakes down into the bilge, on the port (left) side, right by the big harness.

INCIDENTALLY I am going to insulate my cooler one of these days, to make ice last more than 8 hrs. I'm gonna use expanding foam and cover the shell that is the cooler.

Cyclone & Todd,
A burst of air through the tube should clear the blockage. As for the
insulating, I picked up some stuff from the local builders warehouse that they use to insulate duct work. Comes in rolls, silver type of bubble
stuff & cut it to fit. No mess, no stress (like on the cavity in the inboard side, foam has a tendency to expand) works great.
