Parts Figures Online!
« on: July 30, 2005, 06:18:30 am »
Thanks to excellent support from a nameless member who sent me scans of all the parts figures, we now have all the assembly figures for the parts database.

Check it out in the TMS Parts Lookup. Plus, when you do a search for a part, the Figure number is a hotlink so you can see where the part goes.

Pretty cool if i do say so myself.  ;D ;D ;D

Pete, Lesman and ????    THANKS!!!!

Hey, it was cool to get the parts list, but with the figures....VERY nice. This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to get into the public domain.

At the risk of looking a gift horse in the mouth...there are still documents outstanding. Probably a bunch. Take for instance the S22 wiring diagrams I scanned in Dallas. Les has them in the How-to page, but the originals didn't make it onto this latest batch of parts info. The wiring diagrams would be very important if you had to rebuild a loom down the road, and since I didn't scan the other diagrams I had access to, we still don't have them for any of the d-drives or the SX.

These new parts pages are a great addition to the community, but all you sources out there, PLEASE keep the info coming. It might be technically simple stuff to you now, but it could make the difference to us owners ten years from now. THANKS!!!

Derek,
I received construction drawings of the harnesses of the other boat models from another member, he got them straight from Indiana Marine Products. I'll be hitting them up for any and all info they might have on Toyota boats. They'll be up on the site in a day or two. Like the drawings you scanned, they show the length and wire colors but don't show the connections schematically. I'm still trying to figure out the MMDC power connections, the drawings don't really show how the devices are wired, they show the length of the looms and the type of connectors.

I've been away for a while (went to Italy for 10 days as a chaperone with my daughter's Latin class), just catching up and saw the parts lists and the diagrams.  Outstanding!  Thanks to our anonymous member and Les for setting us up!  I know there has been a bunch of banter about support, but this is just the kind of stuff we will need to make it on our own once Toyota stops supporting the Epic line.  The more we can get and catalog the better.

All the information I have been able to secure says we need dedicated power to the MDC control box, but no information on which wires do what function. Maybe after we secure this information we can get the gauges working like they are supposed to. I have tried all the recommend fixes to no avail. I still have a ground problem which makes me run my navigation light to keep the gauges on.

Re-Pete, GREAT to have you back!!! Looks like a lot of tough work, hanging out at the birthplace of espresso bars... Never really decided if I'd rather hit Italy or Greece.

You're right about the tech info - these seemingly unrelated pieces of data fit together. You never know which little hand written note is gonna be the missing link to diagnosing a fuel/air problem, etc.

Derek-

I don't think you could go wrong at either place.? Italy was outstanding--the Mediterranean was absolutely beautiful.? The whole trip just whet my appetite to go back there again and Greece would definitely be a great place to go.?

Here is the vehicle of choice for towing wakeboarding boats in Italy.? Its called a Smart car, and Daimler-Chrysler plans on bringing them over here in 2007.? The way gas prices are going, there might be a big market for them a lot sooner than that....

To lift a phrase Joe Piscopo used to say when doing his Frank Sinatra impersonation on SNL: "The Hemi has chunks of Smart Cars in its stool!".  I think you could run over one of these things with the Magnum, and think you just went a little too fast over a speed bump.

To their credit though, they did make the most of the dismal parking situation in Rome--more than once I saw them pulled nose-first into the space between 2 parallel parked cars that no-one else (except a bike) could have used!  I should have taken a picture of that.

I know, I just had to do it:)) Would it help if you knew I crashed my 2005 Mustang convertible rental in the same week? It's a long story....

About the shirt, Vestis virum redit.

Pete-

Not to take this thread even further off track, but.....

Now that you started, you gotta finish the story of the GT!!? What's up with that?? Maybe you can start another 'Off-topic' thread where we can ramble on and on whenever we want, without hi-jacking a perfectly good thread!!

PS.  I got the Vestis part, but can you translate the 'virum redit' part??
