Attempted to search the threads but didn't find anything on scratches, gel coat damage or spots that fit my situation. Only that these are not good and look for them before buying.
Last weekend while we were swimming my wife noticed a "metal color" spot bellow the waterline our our S22. A wave came through... and we have not been able to see it since. Reaching down I can feel an irregular mark... amoeba like. indented about 1/16 to 1/32" around the "amoeba" edges. Prob 1 to 2" inches across. On the trailer it is almost directly above the rear tire of a double axel on the starbard side and is not visible. No other marks are found. The boat has never been out without me on it. I purchased it new in Dallas. Never beached, struck or abused. Understand that if I kept it in the water this would be a big issue, but she lives in dry storage near the lake. Should I worry about getting this fixed?
Much appreciated!
Here's where is gett's a little interesting... I'm not a conspiracy theorist but... ever since purchasing the boat there was a white plastic strip sticking up between the trailer and boat in the exact same spot. Sometimes those toweling off our boat would pull a piece off. And after finding the "metalic" spot... when I was pulling up on the trailer I noticed white plastic on the top the rail next to the starboard rear wheel. I stopped and had a buddy pull it off and it was two strands of white electrical tape. Could this be a cover-up?
It's my first premium boat and I'm wondering if this "wear" patch could happen at trailering. I'm usually a few degrees off center to the towards the port side on hitting the trailer. Can't think of anything else. Anyway... thoughts, advice, opinions welcome!
Love my boat... AND EVERY DAMN ONE OF YOU!!! MAN
