6 volt batteries
« on: November 02, 2005, 04:53:31 am »
this might be a silly question but can you hook up more than 2, 6 volt batteries together to keep it at 12 volts...Say 6 all together, and if so, how about a quick diagram?

thanks, shawn

absolutely, you'd put them in parallel/series. If you had four six volt batteries, you'd have two sets of two batteries, connected plus to plus, minus to minus (parallel) and then connect them end to end, minus to plus. Plus end of one batt is positive, minus end of other set of batts is negative. Like this. Add more 6v batteries to each parallel pair, two at a time.

Thanks pete, that's what I thought but just wanted to make sure.  It's that time again...time for some new winter projects!

I hear yah. I bought a fiberglass tower box from Squid on WW. I'm gonna put four Polk Momo 6x9's in it. That oughta be a lot louder than the outdoor box speakers I keep blowing up on the tower right now. Out of four of them, only of them is fully functional.

It equalizes the load on them when charging, discharging. It doesn't have to be big cable, 10 ga or so.
