Oh man, I'm so stoked I can't even think straight. Actually, it's probably cuz I have to pee like a race horse. We do Starbucks in SoCal. Oh yeah, I want to hit the ancestral birthplace of Starbucks while I'm up there.

Hey anyway, I'd so love to hook up with any of you guys but am really unsure of my schedule. It's related to a missile defense shot and launch day gets bounced around a bit, plus I won't now the test plan until I'm up there. I'd hate for any of you to rearrange and make effort when I can't be sure about shinola yet.

That being said...3.2 is not problem to meet the infamous Cal, Greg, I'd love to meet you and touch an X22 (to ride would be just so over the top but you know I would if I had the chance), and Pete, whatever, wherever, you name the place and I'll bring the Visa.

Keep the fairy humping up there in Canada, though.

uhhhh Hhehhhhhehhehhe. He said Fairy!

We don't have a lot of ferrys here in Ga.

Blindside, I'll get him to PM you. He is still testing the proto, but he's got more parts. I'll let him give you a price.

I'll be in BC from the 6th to the 17th. The weekend in between I'll either be skiing or goin' to hook up with you guys. Lemme know what your schedules are.

Who was that bagging on the NVS speakers?  I think there'll be pair hangin' down on my boat this year.  Either the Addictions or the Tyrants, not sure yet.
I am looking for a great head unit.  I read somewhere on here that the MB Quart petered out on one of u guys.  Aren't they the same compnay as Rockford Fosgate?  I hate Fosgate stuff, bad previous experienceS.

Here is what I want-

-MP3 playback
-wired remote, for a control on the back of the hull (that sort of eliminates non-marinized stuff, but can   you hook up a wired marine remote to a standard non-marine head unit?)
-Satellite would be nice, preferrably Sirius
-at least one aux in.

I am also considering either the Polk MMC650's or the Bose 131 marine speakers for the interior.    I ordered the 247 with 8 speaker/tower pre-wire, but no stock Kicker crap, so I get to start from scatch.

I think the Phoenix Gold amps are great.   Anyone know anything about zapco?

Did he say his head unit is hangin down? I think that's what he said. I also think he said he bought a 247. Oh, man.

I dig the polks, they have the best tweeters of any other speakers I listened to. They are also marine rated.

NVS are nice if you like cans. I don't care for the look of them or the sound of speakers in cans. NVS and skylon defcons are the only speakers you can actually hear behind the boat. I am going to sell the box I just put together with 4 6x9, the box I am getting has the exact same components as NVS, and has the additional enclosure volume and damping that a box provides. It is pretty big, I may have to do something else with the tramp top to make it fit.

As for head units, the two brands that have all you want are Pioneer and Sony. I like my Alpine but it does not have a wired remote.

Zapco is good stuff, so is Arc Audio. Both are made in USA, not the far east.

Sorry for the comments on the nvs speakers, I just think they are over rated and don't sound that good for as much hype as they are getting.  But that is just my opinion, but i do like the thought of the same components in a custom fiberglass box.

I would be careful putting too much weight on your new Malibu tower, if anyone remembers that black and blue Malibu that Chas did a few months back.  I believe it had nvs and some 8's on it, well it collapsed while pulling a rider.  There was way too much weight on it and when the rider fell, the tower whipped forward and smashed up things pretty bad.  Needless to say, Malibu did not cover the damage under warranty.  Just a thought!

OUCH. I don't think it would be a big deal on our towers, but I'll bet it could crack gelcoat around the tower mounts.

I am the guy with the enclosure shown in the initial pictures.? I am getting a mold made for a composite enclosure with a gel coat finish and internal reinforcement to account for the weight.? The loaded weight of the box should be in the 60-65 lb range loaded with the pro audio components.? If all goes well, they will be available in about 6-8 weeks for around $1600.? I am working on a web site and will update as I progress.

Thanks for the interest.

Thanks Sean, but I love it. You might try Ski Masters in Kenmore, Wash. They had a lot of take off parts, probably 15 or so used swim platforms, windshields, I think I may have seen a bimini or two.

Re: For those about to rock...... Trident Series Pro Audio Tower Speakers
« Reply #27 on: March 31, 2006, 18:08:00 pm »
An update on the pro audio box status.? The enclosure is being tooled for a mold and the final product will be a gel coat finished composite enclosure.? The face where the speakers mount will be black on all boxes while the rest of the enclosure has three standard colors, black, white and viper red.? Other colors are available at an added cost and delivery times will vary.? There will be two basic models of the Trident series offered.? The Trident standard will be as described with black mesh grills.? The Trident Medallion series will have a laser cut stainless steel face and grill choices of the Polk Momo, Audiobahn Flame or the basic black mesh grills.? The weight of the loaded enclosure is estimated at 63 lbs, but will be confirmed once the actual production enclosures are popped out of the molds.? I will post photos as the production models appear.? Reduced pricing will be available on a limited number of the initial systems.

Thanks for your interest.

And they are righteous. Looks and sound. Jims first box sounded and looked great, it's been tweaked a little since. Definitely worth checking out.
