For those about to rock......
« on: January 30, 2006, 23:45:39 pm »
Coming soon to an Epic tower near you. This thing is so loud and clean, you wouldn't believe it. It is relatively light and very strong, it has a laser cut aluminum structure under the glass. My "new" box is goin' on ebay. I am a sick pup.

dude. I have to talk to the Jamaican.

Actually, his name is Jim Aiken. He is Ccrider or something on WW. He built the original box that Squid copied and modified and sold. Squid has also done fiberglass work for lots of people, and is the painter and shaper for the main innovative tower box company, which I probably should mention, they are cool and all. Liquid trends. They really are top quality, BUT. The boxes are all pointy and angry and skinny bitch scary looking. I hate them. Paint is awesome, you prolly saw the boxes. Definitely a high end, quality product, just not for me.

Here are pics of Jims craftsmanship. He is an artisan. He is old, like me but can actually RIDE. He has a super clean 04 Super Air that he took me out on, it was awesome. I froze my nuts off for about three wake jumps with a non-dry suit, but it still rocked. What a boat. I get it now.

Did you hear that super ugly box with the tinsel characters for a grill? It was all 2k and up, and fugly.

Hey Derek, I'll have a great deal on a super killer 4x6x9 box drilled for an Epic tower, in white, with Polk Momos.

Make me an offer.

Thanks Pete, but even a free box would cost me a lot (batteries, amps, wiring, time).

My focus is to log more than 50 hours this year despite a newborn and a return to business travel. If I had time/money to spend, it'd be in the area of Perfect Pass, board racks, and determining why there are yellowing areas by the transom eyelets and along the chines.

I'd still like to ride the X-?? (the last pre-pickle fork X-Star), but if I were to buy a winter boat (for riding, not chilling), it'd definitely be a SAN. Responsive, well-built and a really fun wake. Did I mention WAY expensive?

Que onda, bitches.  :)

I haven't posted a reply for... months now... so I thought I'd drop in and say hello.  That box looks SWEET.  But right now I need to focus on buying a new deck after the POS MB quart that I bought then raved about last year completely crapped on me after getting a lot of MOISTURE (not even directly rained on) during a freak rainstorm the one weekend I had it in Seattle last summer.  Anybody looking to buy the MB Quart Marine deck, don't do it.  It sucks.

I miss you guys. I hope you're all doing well.  I hope you too have already broken out the wakeboarding vids and are dreaming about a time when the sun will shine again...

Hey Cal! long time no posts!

I really like my Alpine, it has tons of features and a knob. Easy controls and there are a lot of available options, xm OR serius, Ipod interface, etc. It is probably 270$ now. cda-9831

Derek,
That is true, I have created a lot of work for myself this winter with all this crap.

I certainly understand the newborn thing, though it was 12yrs ago last time I did it:) I hope you at least put a few hours on your boat this year!

Shawn,
I can put you in touch with Jim if you want concerning the box. I can tell you that it absolutely rips. You can hear it clear as a bell at the end of the rope. It is very solid, too. It is heavy, but it is roughly 20% lighter than a pair of NVS 808's

Cal & NW crew, I'm gonna be up at Whidbey Island for a spot this month. Right now it's scheduled for 10 through 22 but might slip. I'd like to hit the storage van at Ski Masters, but would love to hook up with some members of the NW Posse. Have rental, will travel. Might drive up to 3.2 hours to touch another Epic. Anybody need their X22 wiped down? Fluid change?

BTW, Pete, you're a true pimp. That box is so overkilled it's not even funny. Must sound awesome.

Ha, you must have mapquested.  3.2 has to be close to exactly the distance from Whidbey to Yakima.  But I'll try and make a trip to Seattle the weekend of the 11th/12th.  I'll be in ID over Presidents weekend.  We'll find a way to hook up regardless.

Derek,

I got krejci's old x22 about an hour from whidbey if you feel the need to get behind an epic.  I'd dewinterize it for you, but you 'd better bring a thick wetsuit or a drysuit.  Infact, I 've got a drysuit you can borrow.
