Tundra pulling a boat at the Chicago Auto Show
« on: February 13, 2006, 19:29:45 pm »
Is there any shared DNA in this boat the Tundra is pulling?

I would find it hard to believe that Toyota would let a GM powered boat in the 'yota display.

It would be real cool if there were a nice little Toyota diesel in there.

Can anybody recognize that boat?  Hopefully I can get down there this weekend to investigate.

Man this winter is getting to long when I get excited just to see a boat on a web cam.

Nothing TOYOTA about that boat. Doesn't even have a pimped TOYOTA first aid kit in it like mine does.

Imagine if they rolled up with a shiny X22 behind it. The train of responses would be something like this, "yes, it is a TOYOTA, but no, you can't buy one becuase we don't build them any more." "Yes, thank you, it's a nice boat, but we were losing money competing against domestic brands."

Not exactly a legacy they want to introduce to new truck customers.

I zoomed in on the board by the trailer and I think it is a logo for Chicago Sea Ray so I bet it is one of those (or a Bayliner of some sort) and it is GM powered.

If they were still rolling up one of our Epics up behind the tundra they would only benefit our resale values. I don't care because I will keep mine for a while yet anyway.

Too bad Chicago Sea Ray doesn't have (or didn't bring) a used Epic they could sell.

I could just see the responses:

A motor from what?

I never knew they made a boat.

That boat looks like a SeaRay.  Our EpicMarine.com decal manufacturer has a 2005 SeaRay similar to this one.  Very large boat, good for cruisin'.  Lots of amenities.

We gotta get some pics of your awesome decals on the site. I have to put one on the other side of my boat! Very soon.

I'd only sell my boat to buy an SX.
