Cheap Epics?
« on: March 08, 2006, 14:31:22 pm »
Its been awhile since I posted, but I think its safe to say I'm back! ...unfortunately with good and bad news.

The good news is I finally got the job with Toyota that I've always wanted.

The bad news is that I'm probably losing my Epic in my divorce. I may be in the market for my own soon, I just won't be able to afford such a bad ass one.

Any help finding a decent Epic would be great. I'll probably get a direct drive to save $$$

Thanks guys!

Chasity B.

Welcome back, congrats, I'm sorry and okay.

What are you doing for TOYOTA? I'm a little jealous about that but don't know what they'd hire me to do anyway ;-)

I doubt that getting a d-drive is gonna save you so much, but they are cool. Maybe Fest will take one for the team and give you a good deal on his v-drive?

it already is a good deal.  Of course, there is no way of knowing, but I'd bet my S22 is one of the cleanest and smoothest running Epics out there.  Simply no problems, now or ever.

Chasity,

I'm really sorry to hear that you are going through all of that, esp. since you are the one that has always participated in the forum, you should get the boat as far as I'm concerned. Tell the judge to call me, i'll fix things. You BETTER stick around in the mean time!

When you want to get another boat, an Epic will be easy and relatively cheap to buy. People are stupid, they are running away from these boats, but there is nothing about them that warrants that. I don't care, I own one and will probably buy another even before I sell my current boat.

So, you will always belong to a network of fellow Epic owners around the nation. We will always get together periodically to hang out and burn up fossil fuel. You will always be considered a part of the collective Epic community. Especially when you buy your next one! The wake is about the same on all four models, weighted. It is big and rampy with a nice peak. That's with 2k in there. It would be nice to have 750 lbs under the floor like an SX, but if it is in sacks in the trunk and walkway, that's OK too.  The D Drive models handle like they are on rails, driving them is fun as hell. Sorry, Utah, fun as heck.
Any time you want a ride behind an Epic, just say so. I have stupid sky miles, I'll fly you here and back so you can ride.

Ehem....

(This 'ehem' is because Pete's never offered to fly ME out to ATL.) Truth is, I got my cell phone bill and the 40 minutes we spent talking between Washa and B.C. was FREEEEE because we're mobile-to-mobile. With all that money we're saving, I'm sure he could even afford to fly out here for a set or two.)

So, like, Pete's last sentence is pretty funny if you leave the period out before Pete's name.  Would you give me a free ticket for a ride???

Wait a minute, I never got the "you'll always be welcome here" speach when I sold my Epic!?!?!?

So that's how it is, huh???   ;)

'sky miles'.....  now THAT's love!

I say, once an Epic owner, always an Epic owner.

K, e-mail duane at NVS and tell him you are waiting for the tyrant mounts.?? Maybe a few more voices on the tyrants would be a good thing.? ?Here is my last dialog with him----

Jamin,
Thanks for keeping up on it.
The Tyrant/Illusion mount has moved back on the priority list with the
Arsenal rack and Entity/Addiction quick release products in front.
The Arsenal mount will be compatible with the Illusion X with an
introduction of this scheduled for the Spring ride at Lake Tulloch
April,
7,8,9.
I'm sure plenty of pics will be available for those that can't make it
to
that event.

Sorry if that isn't what you wanted to hear but that is what the masses
are
dictating at the moment. A more realistic date for the Tyrant/Illusion
will
be available closer to the end of March when I've had a chance to do
some
design work for it.

Thanks again,
Duane

---so, let him hear your wants as well.? His e-mail is? --? ?contact@nvs1.net? ?---
Oh, and get some bloody pics of that 247 on here already!

Funny, I exchanged eMails(today) stating almost the exact same thing!

Duane tells me mid-late April....

I was hoping that they would be ready for the Orange County boat show, but he says he won't be there.

I told him that's a bummer 'cause there's lots of people with the cash to buy expensive speakers!

So Pete may be on to something.... we should have an Epic round-up.  It may be unreasonable to get East and West together, but I think a Lake Meade foray for anyone interested would be fudgizzle. I know we have toyed with the idea before, but at least when crazy ole Bitzy and I go, we can let everyone know.   Then again, I may not be invited due to my Epic-treason.  I could just hang out on Bitze's boat.
