What winter projects are you working on?
« on: March 20, 2006, 19:53:47 pm »
Anyone adding Perfect Pass, sound or ballast system, changing props, biminis, trailer stuff?

I'm doing nothing beyond Pony baseball and Cub scouts. Did sort of rig up a PVC tent deal that goes between the two trailer guide-ons and stands on the teak. Then I run a nylon strap from the teak, across the PVC deal and up to the tower tow point. Another strap goes from tower down to the bow. I throw a 12x16 tarp across the back half and then another across the front. So far so good, but I'm still not happy with how the tarp has to lay to keep from pooling. AND...with the cheap tarps, any stressed area degrades super quick - I keep it covered year-round and the tarps aren't even lasting a full year. Someday I'd very much like to get one made out of a fabric that would stay waterproof for several years. I can make the patterns and may even be able to sew (mom's machine's dope), but not sure if there's a hi-tech alternative to heavy canvas or what.

The whole mess slides in between the garage and fence, so the sides stay protected.

Installed XM radio. Peice of cake. put the antenna in the bow on a bracket I rigged coming off the throughbolt. Great receiption. using the  R/L rca to round pin input where the useless 10 disk changer comes in.

Anyone want a 10 disk changer? 3rd or 4th hand, but it still works good until you move. AKA -Skippy.

Hey freak, you mine as well build a roof over that thing. Unless your neighorhood has tenants against that. Me and my dad built one for his 35ft motor home a few years back. Not sure how much he paid for the stuff, but it was pretty straight forward.

Cool about the XM. I can use the changer during the winter - so long as you're riding on glass, the it won't skip. I had Sirius on a rental recently and there's a stream called '1st Wave' that had most of the local DJs from when I was coming up (80's). Richard Blade, Freddy Snakeskin, Poor Man, etc. So cool to be able to jump around to suit your mood. Hard to imagine what that broad of music selection will do during your riding sessions. Wonder if anyone rides to blues or bluegrass or Scorpions or Cramps or Glen Miller?

Scorps, yes. First greatest hits album before they had any hits. Cramps, yes. "Bikini Girls with Machine Guns"

No blues or Glen Miller yet, but I might do it just to freak people out.

With our herds of kids, Fest and I really prefer the Sesame Street Greatest hits CD with our favorite tune being Oscar the Grouch sings the Blues. Sweet tunage for boarding.

I am working with towerbiminis.com to get a top made. I told my dermotologist and she started to cry.
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.
