It won't change the size, just the shape, of a wake. If Tige says it makes the wake bigger, they are puffin' the Chiba.
My boat (epic 22) has a fixed wake plate, it is a bandaid from the factory, according to those that know. Since I put 1500lbs of water weight in my boat, it doesn't really matter what it was supposed to do in the first place. I haven't tried a wakeplate, but Bennett makes one for ski boats.
