Anyone need an MDC?
« on: May 24, 2006, 03:05:43 am »
FYI........If you need an MDC you should call Medallion instrumentation directly.  They sold me one today for $211 and it will ship out tomorow overnight.  Thought I would pass this along.

It is the little computer that drives your guages........ it lives under the dash in an x22

And S22.

Hey, that's less cabbage than it'll cost Festivus to fill up the starboard, forward, upper mid- fuel tank on his 247.

That is a great price, Look at the date and Rev code letter to see if it is a  " F " .
Otherwise that is what Toyota pays as a boat builder! This MMDC is for a digital dash...

You can get the part number off the sticker on the MDC. You can also order through Toyota Marine Spaorts. The part number can be located it the parts section of this site.

Alright- Well, None of my gauges work because I bought the boat without an MDC-  So, I don't have a parts number-  Its an X22 2000 and it doesn't have any digital guages except the hours (which don't show up either)... Anyone know what part or parts I need?  It wasn'ts striped out of the boat so all the wires are intact- But along with the radio there isn't anything besides the dash.  Any help would be awesome...

In your boat the MMDC (millenium dash with carbon fiber and one speedo) or MDC (two speedos) may be in the trunk. It would be mounted up against the back seat on the drivers side. Take the trunk panel off and climb in there to see it. There are some pics here in the speedo stuff on the how to page. You might try pulling the plugs (2 of them) off and cleaning them, putting them back in. There is also an inline fuse for the box about 1 foot down the wire from one of the plugs, check that fuse.

Found the MDC (under the dash) sad I just kept over looking it.? I have said my fair share of cuse words today but been having a blast fixing this boat.? Haha- Do I feel like an amature - YOU BET!!! I keep running into things I have no idea what they are or how they work.? For example- I have taken off the MDC and can't find the inline fuse.? I did find two red caplugs: the smaller has one wire in and one wire out (is that the fuse?)? the second is huge about the size of a bananna around and 3 in in lenght (I'll attach a pick if i can figure it out)

The red thing is an alarm buzzer added to the boat. So when  you turn key on, if you don't hear anything it is because it is not connected, also it is for high water temp.

The inline fuse is located 8" from your master battery switch (Perko). Corrision in the fuse holder or blown fuse will cause no start and lack of all gauges.
