My New (Used) S22
« on: May 29, 2006, 05:30:08 am »
Well, thanks to the citizens of this forum, I have only had my boat for a week and my wife already thinks I am a mechanical genius... :D

The S22 has been cleansed, waxed and polished after the < 1000 mile trip from Fresno, CA to Seattle, WA.  Flew down on a Friday morning, rented a 16' Uhaul, did the inspection, lake test and transfer all before 5pm.  On the road by 6, stopped at the first truck stop before the on ramp to 99, fixed tail lights, pumped tires up, greased bearing buddies and strapped her down for the long drive home.

By Midnight on Saturday I was dragging the trailer (literally) up my driveway just glad to be home.  Took her out on Lake Washington Sunday with the wife then parked and began the cleansing/oiling procedures that are so meticulously detailed within these pages.

So far so good and thanks for all of your hard work with the documentation contained here.  Makes it really easy to talk the talk when you go to the boat shop and ask for specific part numbers instead of asking for everything to be looked up.

And of course a few pics of the new ride.

Now all you need is a tower and a new prop and you'll be good

Nice looking boat. Congrats and welcome to the site. All the old timers have definitly made it alot easier for the new owners. Threw in new plugs drove around for an hour and a half and burned about 4gal. Love it! If you ever get out to Mason Lake stop by and say hi.

Ehem, Fest, it's Triplets. As in tripple dizzle.

Just wish I could remember whether Cal's all-black or our grey/grey/blue is my favorite....

4 Blade prop is on the list as this picture clearly demonstrates why one of the bunks on the trailer has a huge gouge out of it.  I asked Capt Rick about towers and he is looking into if they are available.

The boat came up on www.boats.com but when searching it automatically put in my zipcode and a distance of 25 miles.  So watch out for this.

Where is Mason Lake?

The boat when purchased had 125 hours on the Tachometer so I am hoping that is accurate.

I know it is bad luck to rename a boat, but is it bad luck just to take the name off?

Where on Lake Washington? I'm usually somewhere between Kenmore and Kirkland. I'm always keeping an eye out for Toys.

Yes, I would take that name off. I don't think the rule applies to boats under 23 feet....

Remove the name...unless you plan on getting some small dog, like a shitzu or a long haired chihuahua.

Mason Lake is down by Shelton. A little out of the way, and no ammenities, but a very nice 1000 acre lake to spend the day on. Map Quest and click on the top map on the right.

Small World Brit.  Great vid of James surfing behind your ride.  Now Guti is all over me for a surf outing.

I launch at Sandpoint and head north to Kenmore when the wind blows in from the north or south to hug 520 when the wind comes in from the south.  Monday the rollers were so bad from the yachts coming in from memorial day that we poached a little of the Medina cove just south of Kirkland.  Have yet to make the run down to the MI cut or south to Renton.  I have heard rumors it is usually pretty good.

The name is going the way of the Dodo bird, any suggestions on the best way to remove it without potential damage to the boat?

I took the name off my boat when i bought it. Since there is no wood in our boats, I have nothing to knock on.  :D

I actually like the name on yours. say it three times real fast!
