I suspect power/ground issues.

Does it happen when accessories are on?

Mine used to do that when there were loud bass hits playing through the stereo.  Some rewiring fixed it.  See if it does it when you have everything else off.

Do the gauges wander or reset in conjunction with the chirps?

What year is your Epic 21? Does it chirp after running for awhile? What does your boat idle at RPM wise? Does it happen at low RPM's at idle?

Its a 1999 and yes it does it after a while I never really notice it at first only at idle. my idle rpms are about 800rpms but sometimes it is a rough idle goes from 800 to maybe 500 or 600 every so often. it seems to chirp when it is not idling so good. do you know what it could be????

I bet if you watch the oil pressure gauge when it happens you will notice that the gauge is bouncing off of 5lbs to 20lbs. It is the low oil pressure alarm. When was the last time you changed the oil? If you have changed it this spring then I vote for a bad or weak oil pressure sender. It is located at the oil filter housing. It is in a bad spot for getting good readings, but that is where they put it.

now that I Think about it the oil pressure is pretty low when it happens I thought it was because the gauges were known to be not so accurate.would the problem show up on a computer.would it be throwing a code????? my buddy is a marine tech. and could throw it on the computer.

The gauges have nothing to do with the alarm. The oil pressure sensor is analog and feeds the alarm (chirping) before it ever gets to the MDC. Change out the sensor and see what happens or you could go to a mechanical gauge set-up to verify oil pressure.

0-80 lb oil sender. It will not do any harm. Have your freind that is a marine tech get you one. The sender is located at the oil filter housing. Very simple to change out. The sender should be less that $30.00. TMS stocks. Go through your local dealer and order or check with your local car parts store for a sender.

You should get the HP oil sender, 0 to 110 lbs.The 80 lb one will give you HIGH pressure alarms all the time. No harm other than that, though. If you get the generic one from Skidim or Overtons, it will be the right one.

I dont think idle should be at 70psi, mine (stock sender) is at probably 0-5psi fluctuating to 30 and then 30-80 at cruise, 80 at 4K+ rpms.

What is the correct part number from a Toyota dealership, and would Ski Masters carry the correct pressure sender (0-110psi one)?
