Quick Oil Question-
« on: June 13, 2006, 18:32:26 pm »
Been working on the Epic all day- I don't think there is an easy way to change the oil in these boats but I am sure I made it harder then usual! haha-  I have an x22 and after draining the oil and replacing the filter (mobil 1 for both) I filled it up with the 5.5 liters it should of taken.  Nothing registered on the dip stick.  Not one drop- So, with the oil cooler "How much oil should this boat take?"  Don't want to over fill but I added and extra half quart already and still nothing...  The dip stick isn't orginal so I am wondering if that has something to do with it.

Maybe you could get someone to measure their stick for you. Like from the sealing ring to the hi and low marks.

It has been mentioned here that overfilling the M1UZ is a problem.

Is it a personal preference on the Mobil 1 or a Toyota preference?

I think Toyota recommends Mobil 1 in the owners manual

Psullivan3- thanks for the measure-  When you say below the handle Do you mean the entire plastic part-  If so mine measures RIGHT AT 21-  BUT if you mean below the handle (grip) then I read about 21 1316 as well.  I'll take a pic to show... Let me know if I measured right or wrong?

Where you have the tape is correct, I just made sure the stick was straight no bow.The stick looks exactly the same as mine.

Do not use synthetic until the engine has over 200 hours. The rings will not seat and the compression will not reach max.
