The epic got jacked
« on: June 26, 2006, 06:04:24 am »
Someone helped themselves to most of my stereo equipment in the last couple of days.........are there good boat alarms out there?  My boat is out on a lift under a canopy and obvioulsy vulnerable.

Man, that sucks. Were they at least gentle about it or did they damage the boat, too?

It feels weird saying this but they were very nice and took their time unscrewing and unwiring.  The worst part is they jiggled something under the dash and have my guages nonfunctional again.....such is life

My neighbor installed a car alarm on his, with motion detectors.  I've been known to "nudge" his "Boo" on ocassion, just to screw with him.  He got micro switches for the trunk and storage compartment.  You could also put one on the radio so if it were slide out from it's cradle, would set off the alarm.
Maybe you could try motion detector lights on the boat lift.  We have sporatic larcenys by dirtbags in boats at night, so I can sympathize with you're plight.

Dude, that really sucks.  That was about $2k worth of electronics....easy.  Bummer.  Go to Wakeworld...  they have some topics about boat alarms.  I hear they are getting more popular.
