Ballast System Available Costco.com

Amigos,

I am thinking of ordering this ballast system for my 1999 Epic 22.  Any thoughts?  Seems really really cheap ! $109.00 !  Is it a real piece of !?*&@# or are they really not too expensive?  Not much info on the site.  Would I have to fill these things somehow manually?

Actually they have two available.  A two-bag or a one-bag:

which is best?

Here is the other one.

If I am reading it right you have to add $65 for a pump. At 1100 gph, it would take 15 minutes to fill each small bladder or 30 minutes to fill the large one.
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

I like the two bag setup better because then you can actually "place" the weight better and not have as much sloshing if you don't fill them all the way.

This is, of course, coming from a skier that has been kicking the ballast idea around for my boarding friends that seem to get bored behind my ride. (his older supra is like a brick to ski behind but decent for boarding with just people in it)

Does anyone use a household current pump (115/230V) to fill their ballast?  We have a sprinkler pump that pumps out of the lake that is like 60 gpm, that should fill them in a jiffy - and it is about 20 feet from the epic's lift.

Yeah, I would need the pump too but will plug into the cig lighter. That is nice too. I like the two bag system as well.  (Just dip one side in if ya want).

I'm gonna order and see whats up.  I'll let you guys know.

Looks like a good deal. That Rule 1100 will fill those bags in no time. I fill a 1000lb sack in less than 10 minutes.
