Lesman...

Do you really pull your boat with an IS350?  Isn't that a car?  Flyn.

Finally some action here at Epicmarine!  Im not all excited its about me but everyone on here is a great person that loves their boats and thats whats important.  Because of this site i purchased my boat and without the resources here i definately wouldnt have attempted any of the maintenance.  Just wanted to thank the whole community for all the help!

i consider it phenomenal that it still runs and looks as great as it does ..

As Breakaway says, mistakes were made by both. He is also so very, very correct when he says that I am a happy buyer. He and I can both look back and laugh (at least I can) when recalling the incredibly drawn out process of selling his prized E21 to me. While Breakaway could have used the word phenominal to describe the boat, the condition of the boat spoke for itself. In a digital world, buyers rightfully expect (or should demand) detailed pictures of anything they are buying. It also works to the seller's advantage in managing the buyer's expectations-

Not being quite as savvy as Breakaway, I humbly offer the following:

Buyer - of course you want to spend time in the boat while on water so why the heck do you show up at 1AM??? Work something out with a seller before you travel to be sure you will have the time needed to check out the boat while RUNNING and on the water.

Seller - well, I think the above quote says a lot. You call yourself a Toyota enthusiest yet say something like that???? You say that you can get the vinyl fixed for $50 but you don't do it? You say the driver's seat is a "little torn up" but describe the boat's condition as phenominal? You then post pictures of the boat showing everything EXCEPT the driver's seat??? You have an excuse for everything else wrong with the boat such as the dead battery and rear seat. You list every nickel spent on the sound system, including a $24.99 Perko switch, yet seem completely unaware that someone else may think the condition of the upholstery is a major concern??? You are probably now going to get upset when I question your definition of "runs like a champ"??? (especially after your quote above)

You keep trying to compare yourself to the other owners on the website, giving props to those that support your posts yet frosty to those that question your posts. I suspect that you are trying to use an association with the website as a way of marketing your boat more than actually sharing the views of most here....I just don't think you understand what the word phenominal means to members of this website or the extremes most here will go to be sure they keep their boats that way. Using the boat extensively for tons of fun and yet maintaining it well are not mutually exclusive as proven by the master - Cyclone.

Hey Les - we should be good for 11 more now-
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

And why would you go look at somthin that sounds a little iffy anyway!  Everyone look out, the lovefest at Epicmarine is OVER!  Now everyone go and buy some decals with a bad check!

I know most of this discussion is light hearted fun, however, this post is the first thing new folks see of our website now.  Lesman, anyway we can edit the constructive from the destructive in this post and move on?  I would much rather read about Flyn washing his boat for the 4th time this week or Cyclone doing another install that is completely over my head.

On the other hand, this is a good post for sellers and buyers to read and learn from.

Ktown,

You are banned from speaking my name! You abandoned Lake Amistad and me....FOR WHAT??  A Starbucks, Target, Malls, Normal city life and easy access to 2 nice lakes??  Do you realize you cut the Epic community in 1/2 when you left?  Well...I guess I forgive you for now, but at least my lake is like 25 feet low now due to a serious drought!!  Crap...you got any spare rooms for me and the fam to move in? BTW...GI and K-Dub had their 4-ship fini today.  Flyn.

aaron, what's your story, dude. Seems like you really lit up in this thread early on.

txhntr, hope you sell ur boat. At least now folks will know the condition a little more accurately. Extra karma points if you get the upholstery fixed.

Supraspeed. what's with the late night boat shopping?

I set Supraspeed up with TXhnter, I am the one that sent him out there to waste 35 gallons of $4 gas to find out the interior is full of tears.

Supraspeed works for me, and is a night owl to say the least, he has trouble getting to work by NOON. We were having a bunch of friends come to the lake with us last Saturday and Supraspeed wanted to have a second Epic there.

Txhnter continues to mention that he has knocked $1500 off the price....his price isn't exactly a door buster. It's well over NADA high retail and quite a bit more than Waterski America was asking for my Epic. My Epic has a more hours (800 versus 600) slightly lesser stereo (Alpine instead of Focals, and Polk instead of JL, etc) but has a nicer interior.

Both sides made mistakes, both sides claim things happened differently. I wasn't there for that part. Had we seen the interior photos in advance there probably wouldn't have been a late night 600 miles round trip. Oh well, acknowledge and move on.

See ya,

Aaron

i get off of work at 6 pm and it is a 4-5 hour drive to lubbock from where i live. From the way he described the boat, it sounded like the perfect boat for me. I should've asked for better photos and what not but lesson learned.

Good luck with the sale
