it currently has around 600 hours on it and runs like a champ.  I have all original manuals and have done all other work myself including new steering cable, all fluids changed, spark plugs, bilge pumps, air filter, new oil cooler, HUGE stereo, custom cover made in july of 2007, reworked trailre brakes and repacked all bearings and added bearing buddies, new electrical panels on the dash, did the power mod to the DECC, and a whole lot of other stuff... through no fault of his own with multiple options to work things out, lets not make this biased...

actually lets discuss why we couldnt make a deal...
1.  Was supposed to be cash, he showed up at 12:30am with a cashiers check that could not be verified...
2.  I offered to take a hundred bucks off the price to get him and his family a hotel room so we could verify funds and they would be on their way the next morning... they declined.
3.  I have not dewinterized the boat and i had a 6 hour heads up until they arrived, i didnt have time to get it lake ready and i had to work.
4.  They get there and found some minor tears in the vinyl and tried to negotiate further( which i never masked or lied about).  I already came off my price over 1500 bux and was not going to negotiate any further.
5. They wanted me to start the boat without any coolant in the motor, which i WILL NOT do seeing as it had no way to cool, i was not going to seize my motor and have them walk away leaving me with a broken boat.  I told him he was more than able to crank it over by hand, pull plugs, etc, he declined...
6. While the boat was in the stereo shop the guys left the perkos on and ran the batteries DEAD.  I told him of this before they even came out here and he didnt seem to mind that it couldnt crank over if it wanted to cause of the batteries.

I told the buyer that tuesday i could have title in hand and lake test with them but he was dead set on coming in to town last night.  I never told them that actually running and driving the boat was out of the question, i told them that Tuesday was the earliest that that could happen and they were dead set on getting it yesterday at 1am... Im not trying to be bull headed, i would love for a fellow toyota enthusiast to get this boat, but as a seller i am going to protect my asset and without having a way to verify the funding i could not just take someones word.  They seemed like really nice people and Im sorry he had to drive out here and go back empty handed but I allotted many options to which they were open to none of.  Just thought i would tell "the rest of the story..."

Toyota has rolls of vinyl left that would probably fill a Costco, and any decent upholstery repair shop can take care of minor ones. If the boat runs good, who cares?

yes aaron, minor tears for an 8 year old boat. you keep posting on this thread but i certainly dont remember you being here to see it in person... I bought it that way and did not see a problem with it.  IT runs like a top, and was dewinterized yesterday.  Im not going to let you flame me or my boat.  The upholstery is not a huge deal to me, some dumb person will probably just rip it if i get it fixed. Plus i knocked over 1500 off the price of the boat, and you could get a whole new interior for a grand...  Thank you westtx (forgot your name, my bad) for the idea.  How would someone get ahold of some of that vinyl?
