Trampoline Top Anyone?
« on: February 11, 2009, 18:16:01 pm »
I know this is an almost impossible post but I am still looking for a tramp top for my '01 Epic SX.  Anybody have a spare top lying around?  :o

There is a post on here about how to get a metal fabricator to build you one...  I'm looking that the same thing... I've gotten two quotes: 360 and 600.   Maybe we could find someone to build a a few of them and get a price break.  I know people are always looking for the trampoline tops on this site...

I got a quote from a business in Nashville.  The aluminum tube is schedule 40 tube with a 1/8" wall thickness & he is gonna send it off to powder coat either black or white.   He quoted $605.90 which includes tax, labor, parts, paint...  What do yall think?

The SunBrella Trampoline top is going to be another $240 off this site so looke at 850 for a new trampoline top...

Tell me if yall think this is a good deal or I should keep looking around...

That being said, once I get one made - how exactly do they attach to the tower?  Is there a special set of brackets?  Are they still available for sale?

Looking for some advice on this, its alot of money to spend when its seems half the country is in danger of losing their jobs.  Hope everyone is safe out in epicmarine land....

There are nutsert inserts that you stick in the tower after drilling 4 x .5" holes. There's a 5/16 machine screw that holds a small aluminum L bracket that the top mounts to. I think it's shown in the tramp top installation instructions on this site.

I think if I put my tramp top back on the boat I will use a different mounting system, probably hardware something like the fancy hard bimini on the new Supras.

I am considering big air Bimini as a less expensive alternative. www.Bigairpylons.com. Anyone have one of these?

L brackets - I haven't seen my boat all winter but I remember some holes where it looks like a tramp top used to be.   What about the price?  800 seems costly but the trampoline top does look good.

The big air looks promising and half the cost.  Doesn't look as good but saves a bunch of money and provides enough shade for the family.   Let "us" know if you get one...

I'm working on a possible group buy if anyone is interested. They said it would fit the stock tower

Looks like if we order 4 at once we get $20 off. If we order 10 we will get $40 off.

I have been pondering a new Bimini top and found this one as well.

http://www.greatlakesboattop.com/wakeboard-tower-bimini-top

It has some benefits such as storage and there are no strut poles supporting it.    Their website says the only color you can get is black, but the customer service dept said they can make it in other colors for an upcharge.  The standard price in black is 599.00.  They say if we buy 10 in a group buy they will give us 15% off.  It comes out still over 500.00 but looks to have quite a few features and benifits.  Take a look and let me know.

I like that one a bit more Breakaway - So, I am interested in it more.  Website says you can put a tube on top.  That would be perfect.  I hate tubes constantly getting in the way to flopping around on the back of the boat...

As long as your tube is not wider than your tower.  I like it for the no poles, easy off, and it looks like it will hold a couple of wakeboards or skis.  Nice to have all that stuff off of the floor.
Monster Towers remarkets this tower on its web site.  Here are the directions for install. Looks pretty straightforward and adjustable so should look like a custom fit.  Kinda a big file, look b4 you download!

I want to remount mine but I'd like to use hardware like the monster hard bimini, or something similar. I could probably drive over there and get it:)

Looked that file - Looks "simple" enough.  That shade (60"X65") is a little smaller than factory trampoline top (69.5''X74.5") but looks cool enough.
