I installed my volume control and the six channel preamp, it works awesome. I had to rewire quite a bit of stuff under the dash, the dingleberry mechanic that put in my keyless ignition grounded it through the horn circuit and hacked a bunch of wires. I took all the accessories off the ignition ckt and hooked them to a relay that switches ignition power when the ignition is hot.

I got rid of a dead blue top batt, and paralleled the 12v supply to the dash with an 8 ga wire and fuse.

NO MORE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS  WOHOO 13.4 vdc all the time.

Then, I ordered a JL 12" W6 for big time pimpin';)

Here's the latest, probably the last stuff added for this year (yeah right!)

I put in a universal Ipod interface for my new (sons old) Ipod, which I just hot rodded with a bigger battery.

Here's the new sub, a 12W6 JL in a bigger, more well constructed box. I suck with tools. That is why I'm in the computer biz. You should have seen the pile of scrap, it was three times the size of the box! This box is righteous, and practically airtight before I liquid nailed and screwed it together. I fiberglassed it inside and out.

Here is everything, including the volume control. I put an Ipod shuffle port in there in case I forget one ipod or the other. The volume control works great, I'm still working on the code for the speed controlled volume.
I mounted the six channel preamp under the dash on the hull side. I pulled out the white plastic structure that was behind the footboard, the box now supports it.

I think it'll be ok without one, it's a pretty tough speaker.
