I love that box, did you make it?  What is the black circle on the top?

It's a Squid box, he posts on Wakeworld. Super nice quality, and its all glass. Cheap too. He does great paint, I should have had him do flames or something.

I dampened it with dynamat type stuff (lighweight kind from Parts Express) and stuffed it full of Dacron.

I glued in some pieces of Starboard to reinforce the mounting points and to mount the crossovers. I did that for the speaker mounting points too, so I could use the screws that came with the speakers. I sealed the whole thing with gaskets and silicone.

The round connector is for the speakers, it is a speakon connector. It is watertight as well, and good for up to 1k watts. I just ordered a right angle plug which will work better than the straight one on there now.

The Polks are marine rated, salt water exposure etc.

Can't wait to hear it!

speaking of Muy Bien, Fest and I just got back from Los Cabos. they were selling wakeboard rides in the bay where the cruise ships dock and where 300 other boats are running around all the time. Between the waves, the wakes, the salt water and the traffic that must be the worst ride in the world. They probably charge a hundred bucks for it too. Los Cabos muy bien, wakeboarding in los cabos muy malo.

Humble Pie?  Wow Pete, I never heard of them!  So looked em up, "30 days in the hole" and " I don't need no doctor" some interesting stuff!  By the way, somehow or another we took a 2000 Cown Vic police interceptor (ex FBI) car in trade the other day (all black, steel wheels, hubcaps no chrome, black everything, dark tint).  117k miles and all there!  Runs out good, and when you ride around in it, everyone gets out of the way!  It would look great next to your Marauder!

Derek,
That's Ronald LeBay, creepy old guy from the greatest haunted car pic of all times, "Christine"

Breakaway, that would be cool, but everyone thinks I'm a cop already!

That would be a good first car for my son, though.....

Here is a simple outboard volume control I made. It is similar in function to the PAC LC1, well, three of them. I used  better pots and modified the taper so it is more logarithmic. I also added a dock and charger for my Shuffle, so I can just plug it into the box and have 20 hrs of tunes. No more CD's or even my big Ipod. I'm going to install my six channel Planet Audio preamp in line with this, the preamp will drive long RCA's with lowest possible noise.

This one doesn't have speed sensitive volume control, I am still writing the microprocessor code for that. It is coming soon, box will be bigger.

In case anyone is interested, the reason I used the Shuffle is because it is small and has the best audio performance of ANY Ipod or MP3 player. More bass response. Better than the full sized ones, too. Don't know about the nano but it seems like all the ones with a display use a capacitively coupled output section which degrades under load.

Nano, nano to you too. Isn't that something from Mork and Mindy? I never know what the heck you are talking about on this thread, but I read it anyway, so my friends in the trailer park will think I'm cool. I'll run the nano bit past em. They'll nod their heads faking that they understand. I won't understand either, but they'll think I do. Living with rednecks rules.
