That green stuff is Plexus adhesive, and it is squirted down in lines like it came out of a giant calk gun. You just didn't happen to run into any with the hole saw. There are other places where water can get between the hull and the liner, like where the drive shaft goes through the boat, and where the through hulls for water intake are, etc. I don't think it is a huge deal that there is a little water in there. Lots of boats have no liner at all, ours are kinda deluxe like that. I think it is mostly cosmetic, and to make the bilge stay drier and cleaner.

So, HiFlyin, does your throttle assembly look like the ones in my pics? I'm 99% sure that Cal's is different because of Accuski, it just means he has to remove a few parts.

Mine looks identical to yours Pete. I used both PP directions and your directions. Between the two of them every question I had got answered. Thanks for making it so easy on us.

Cal, if it was any other week I would drive over for a night to help you out. But this week is just too busy. Sorry man.

Cal, no help from the Lesman, but once you do it, I may consider doing it. I just can't bring myself to drilling a hole in the bottom of a perfectly good boat.  ;)

Alright, I think I'm almost there.? Pete, I called you earlier but your phone did something weird.? I think I figured out the throttle linkage anyway.? But let me be sure of it before I declare victory.? The hole is now 2" and the paddle wheel is installed.? Took the floor out and just left the battery in (duh...don't know why I didn't think of that earlier) and the wires are run.? With all factory options and all the wiring/plumbing that goes with that, running those wires is a BEEEOTCH.? The hole is too small.? Ask Terry how EASY it was for HIM to wires was in his SX.? If he wasn't such a bad-a&$ mutha...? ;)

Another 24-hours and my 5-hour project should (emphasize SHOULD) be finished.?

Pete, you might get another call from me tomorrow night.  It's too late to call now, but after sleeping on it I think I understand what you told me to do.

Nuthin' but ***EPIC LOVE***, baby...

Actually, Pete or Terry or whoever else (even somebody who doesn't have the pee-pee) -- could you take a picture of your throttle linkage for me if you get a chance?  I need two pictures, a close-up at the bracket itself, and then a zoomed out one that shows the brace-type-thing(s) that hold the the cylindrical-cable-holder-thingamajigger just before it gets to the bracket.

Does that make sense?  Basically just a zoomed-out picture of the one in the how-to pages.

THANK YOU!!

Perfect Pass works perfectly. Water was to chopy for the board so I just cruised around for a bit. If you are thinking about getting PP and have not done so yet, GET IT... IT ROCKS!!!

Success, bitches.  ;)  I'll post pics of the extra step needed if you have Accuski on your boat.  Basically, with the accuski set-up, Toyota added an extra 6" section of cable.  You remove the 6" of extra cable and the second Accuski throttle wiring, move the entire thing forwards 6", and it becomes the same as Pete's diagrams.

It was a piece of cake once I got over the fear of taking a section of linkage out of the throttle cable.  No testing yet.  Hopefully this weekend.

Thanks again to all of you for the help and support.

Got 'er on the water today.  The Perfect Pass works perfectly.  No problems with the throttle cable, though it does feel just a touch stiffer and more sensitive.  I'm assuming it's a touch (emphasize "a touch") stiffer just because there is so many more moving parts now...?  Anybody else experience this?

But now that I got the Perfect Pass working, I dinged THE SHIT out of my propeller.  Sweet.  I knew it was inevitable launching on the tiny Yakima River...  So I've been reading like crazy about props, debating whether to just repair or what.

Starting another thread.

I'm installing PP this weekend, so I need all of you to be standing by for when I hit a snag. Everyone just give me your cell numbers and wait around saturday for my call.

But, for serious, can someone post a pic of a vdrive pp linkage installed? Cal? I think I can get the hole drilled by looking at Hiflyin's pics on this thread. Do you drill from the outside in, or the inside out? The pp directions say to drill from the bottom. A pic of the bottom of a vdrive paddle wheel install would be helpful.

And, which module do you replace? speedo or RPM. My rpm has engine hours on it i think, so I want to replace the speedo.

I think i can figure everythig else out.

Wish me luck!

Drill your hole for the paddle wheel from the outside in. I replaced my speedo guage. PP guage has a speedo and the OEM one never worked right anyway. Have both the PP and Epic Marine PP install directions on hand. When I had a question during my install one of them usally answered it. Don't worry about the linkage it's easy. I'll take a pic of my lingage and servo mount today for you. I ended up mounting my servo on a starbored side water hose ( I think the directions say to mount it on port). Any who Good Luck!!
If you think your running into any problems :'( just give Cal a jingle and he'll tell you about PROBLEMS.  :'( :'(;)

I actually have a DD, I was just too lazy to start a new thread so confused everybody in this one.  Do you have accuski?  If so, then your throttle linkage will be weird (like mine).  If you don't, it will be easy (like Pete's).  Once you get in there, you'll see. Pete's pics are perfect -- your v-drive should be identical to the d-drive.  I know Terry's SX looked just like Pete's.

And like Terry, mount your servo unit on the starboard side because the v-drive engine faces backwards, whereas the d-drives face forward.

I'll be around if you have any problems.  I'll send you a PM with my phone numbers.  Whatever problems you run into, they won't be more difficult to figure out than mine.  I just freaked out because I didn't realize my mistake until everything was COVERED in sealant and epoxy.  ;)

Measure twice...cut once.  I learned my lesson.
