Sorry aobut dropping the ball on thoes pics i promised you. I'v been preoccupied with a bathroom remodel im doing at the house. I'm at work all day and night today and then im catching a boat to Canada at 7am tommorrow. If you still need the pics next week i'll get them to you. I'm sure you wont though. The install is fairly simple (unless you have Accu pee) but time comsuming. Im sure you can get it done over the weekend.
Got out wednessday for the first time with PP(Cal ,thanks for letting me borrow Rob and Jordan. Got a funny story to tell you) and it was @$#% AMAZING. Zero stress for the driver and for the rider HEVENLY!!

No problem. already got the linkage installed. It's the same as on petes, except I won;t have to cut the engine cover i don;t think....Put the module in the dash last night. Will drill hole tomorrow and run the wiring. So far it's not that hard, but time consuming...

Good luck on the bathroom, toilets are fun! Can you say "wax ring"

Thanks though.....

PP definitely helps us Epic guys out than other boat owners, we have to change rpm a lot more to maintain speed. More throttle movement because we have less torque. I've noticed that after driving other peoples boats.

Les, I have the right sized hole saw for the paddle wheel if you don't have one already. Lemme know if you need it, I'll run it down there.

Thanks Pete, I already have one, plus my brother's helping out. He's got all that suff plus a wire snake.  He installs XM radios by trade, so he got all the goodies. We're drillin tomorrow if it does not rain. Testing Sunday if it's nice and goes smoothly. Maybe we could come up your way.

I have the throttle linkage/servo installed and the module in the dash. Took me 2 nights this week to do that. Do i do anything special with the speedo plug that came out of the old speedo?

Just an idea :) hook everythig up first and give the paddle wheel a flick with the ol index finger to see if it registers on the speedo. It made me more comfortable to know it all worked before I  broke out the drill.
I got mine up to 39 mph ;D

les, if you put in on the south end of Lanier, just let me know where to meet you. It's actually closer to me, I just usually go up to the north end for better water and fewer knuckleheads. There are some good spots on the south end too, better on weekdays though.

I removed the speedo, it's useless anyway. You still get speed on the digital display.

It's raining cats and dogs right now, no boat today :(  Hopefully tomorrow.

Terry, yes i did give it a flick once i got it all wired up and it worked great. Servo motor test checked out ok, too. So I now have a hole in my boat, with a paddle wheel assemble in place.

The problem is that the paddle wheel shaft with the threads on the outside is not quite long enough to screw the cap nut on. It lacks a gnats ass from being able to thread on there. WTF. I guess i could grind down the locking nut that flushes up to the inside liner to give me a little more room. I image that;s pretty important, although the 2 rubber gaskets seat in place just fine. Any ideas. Will it leak like a fountain without the nut cap?  ??? ???

Almost a clean install  :'(

Assuming that your hull's too thick right there, which is keeping the nut from getting enough purchase....you need to grind down the hull surface on the inside to make the hull thinner there. Don't skimp on a threaded through-hull, below-waterline object or Bubbe Joe will be giving you lunker lectures.

Les,
I'd leave a gasket out and seal the crap out of it with 5200. If it will catch a couple of threads, no problem. I wonder why your hull is so think there?  I was out there today. cold but nice.

I don;t know, I may have been a little closer to centerline than 7" with the hole, I did not want to line it right up with the water intake.

Does not catch with the gasket off. When I take the locking nut off, I can add the rubber gasket and screw the cap on and it gets a really tight fit against the gasket. and the 2 orings are really seated into place well.

I don;t think it's going anywhere. The sleave was REALLY tight going in from the bottom. To prep the hole, I sprayed foam waterproof insulation in the hole. I had no green goop in there, It was completely hollow except on one side I could see where I cut through a layer of foam insulation or whatever. It was white and the liner was bone dry. Maybe the green goop is algae growing in the insulation on yours????

I put tape over the bottom of the hole and squirted expanding waterproof gap and crack filler foam insulation from the top. Once dried I removed the tape and used the blade of a coping saw to cut the foam out even with the hole. Then covered the inside with a layer of epoxy with my finger. Sanded a bit and screwed the sleave in. I think i'd have a hard time getting it out if I had to.

Anyway, I think I'll try this out watching very carefully for leaks and staying close to the ramp. Worste case is that I'll have to drill a larger hole in the liner and inset the locking nut like Derek suggests, but I 'm not sure the liner is thick enough. If it leaks I'll worry about it. Bilge pump works great. Bubba Joe, take your best shot.

Stay tuned for the test run.

Drilling the larger hole in the liner would have been the idea I would of thrown out there. Sounds like you took it to the lext level.

when I installed perfect pass I had the same problem. My solution was to leave out the rubber washer. I then took the lock nut to the belt sander and took a little off each side I easily took an 1/8 of an inch off if not more. after that it sealed and worked like a charm. My hull was 1 3/8 inch thick. I would definitly use the lock nut, just thin it down.
