Sounds great - now we just have to see what these two tropical depressions have in mind for later this week!

I got soaked TWICE this weekend, last night it started 10 min before the fireworks were supposed to begin. I hope this thing blows through before the weekend

I better ring in, this is getting serious. :)

My place is at the T9 marker in Lake Hartwell. I'll definitely have to look you guys up.

This coming weekend is bad for me as my youngest daughter has a County Swim Meet Sunday, so If I make it to the lake it will be Saturday.

I'll watch the site to see how things are shaping up for an Epic roundup.

That would be so COOL, five Epics up there at one time! The weather is going to be the big thing, that storm is supposed to dump on us next weekend:(

Well, I secured a campsite on Paynes Creek for next Sat. Should be cool if we don't get soaked. I figure I'll drive up Sat AM (it's only an hour) and then hook up with everyone. I'll probably bring my 2 boys, they love to camp out and do the boat thing. I want to wakeboard, they want to fish. Go figure!

I did it on ReserveUSA.com, pretty cool site for that sort of thing. Lots of info, including distance to the water (38ft:)

It's site 1, btw. The weather forcasts right now sound like we'll get the weekend in between tropical depressions. Hope it works out that way!

You are going to love Payne's Creek campground. From the water, every site looks great. My wife has driven through the campground and says every site appears to be on the water. Saturday AM sounds like a great time- and for now the weather forecast indicates Thursday night will be a gully washer but Friday and Saturday will be ok.

I will probably go hang myself after saying this but Payne's Creek is a great ski/wakeboard cove. It is a few miles long, the water stays glassy except for some wind ripples close to the mouth, and there is a huge turnaround at the end. Unfortunatley, my dock is right at the most narrow point and the placement of the PC5 center channel marker tends to push the inexperienced towards me.

It will be great if HCollado can join us. I vividly recall the swim meet routine. I used to call them organized chaos! The counties were a little better in that it wasn't the parents running the thing but I still have never figured how the kids end up swimming their assigned heats.  I know the upper area of Hartwell pretty well(along the Tugaloo) and T9 is down on the bigger water so we should have a lot of area covered.

Starting to get excited........

Well, I bought a map of Hartwell today, I'm not sure the best route to take to get to Paynes creek. Les or Wreck, I'm coming up 85, where should I get off to get to that side of the lake?

Got me a real anchor instead of my trusty Milk Jug O'concrete. And an anchor buddy, bungee anchor line.

the anchor buddies rock, except always check the water depth before  you throw the anchor off.  We lost one at Powell a few years ago because there was an 80ft cliff underwater behind the boat.  It sank fast.

Pete, Take 85 to exit 177(Dads Restaurant there) Go right on 77 about 5 miles til a large intersection. There's a gas station on the left, I think there are signs at that point. Take a left at that intersection.(77 junction Rd) When that road dead ends, take a left. Continue about 5-7 miles until road bends really sharp to the right. If you go straight instead of follow the hard rh turn, you'll run into Payne's Creek Rd. follow that till you get there.

We;re still a go for this weekend!

Well, I just got all caught up on my wifes to do list, and I have been behavin like never before!  I get all set to drop the "Maybe I will go to the Epic roundup at Hartwell this Sat." speach that I have been practicing and then I get reminded of the "Divisional Swim Meet" on Sat!  Well, as they say on Shrek,

"Im a Donkey on the Edge!"

I going to do my best for Sat. AM, they weather will play a big factor in the swim meet as well.  Hope to see you all there!
