Yeah, thanks again for all the information on Amistad before I got there.

As for the boat, The guys at Phil Dill Boats said that they 'adjust' prop mount all the time.  I assume that they do get bent.  Basically all you need to do is get it back to the point where the shaft spins with little friction.  Since I am not footing the bill I will probably just get another mount.  Definitely another prop though.

Clint, seriously, stay off that knee till next year.  Its not worth the risk.  Since Roy screwed his leg up, I am really nervous about this stuff.  I am gonna start stretching like a madman.

Check out The prop.

For Those who never get to see Amistad this is what you are missing.

K-Town and Flyin2001 have been holding out on the rest of us.

Those are awesome pix of the lake Kirk...you guys were not joking..that water was like glass.  It's supposed to be like upper 80's this Thursday and Friday.  I think most of us with boats down here are going out those days.  I'm playing permanent driver, so the people riding w/ me will have it made I guess.  That's a bummer about your prop....thats an ACME right?  Yeah, probably not a bad idea for some of us older guys (me...actually more like K-town) to stretch now before these kinds of activities.  On another note..what do you know about lake travis around spring break time frame?  It seems like it would be an awesome time to rally up and camp/boat/drink?  I've never been there so i'm not sure.  Take it easy...oh, if you need to borrow a prop puller or whatever, just let me know, I could lend you mine.  See ya.

Thanks for the help Lakeside. I thought about getting it repaired.  However, all the quotes I was getting here in dallas for those repairs are at least 130.   I already opted for the new prop.  Maybe I will keep the old one as a spare.  The new one is on its way.

Thanks for the offer on the prop puller Flyn, but I figure by the time you ship it to me and I ship it back I might as well buy my own.  West marine has them for 60-70 bucks.  I am considering just using it and then taking it back.  (mildly dishonest)

Flyn,
As for Lake Travis it is supposed to be crazy at spring Break time.  Great to party and hang out but I don't think you would want to try to board much.  It will be very crowded.  But I am definitely down to head to lake Travis then or any other time.  Its only about a 3 hour haul for me.

PS - Roys doctor says he should be back to 100 percent before spring of next year.  He is already getting around alot better.  He would be doing tons better if he didn't live in a 3 story town home with tons of stairs.

Hey Kirk,

Depending on how soon you need it done, I may still be able to work something out with you.  I don't know if you recall me mentioning this, but we (pilots here at Laughlin AFB) fly to Fort Worth Alliance (KAFW) quite often.  Usually someone fly's there about every weekend or so.  I'm not sure how far of a drive that airport is from you, but I could probably arrange to have it dropped off if you want.  I guess it would depend on how soon you wanted to get your hands on it.  I will most likely fly there myself on the weekend of the 15-17th of December.  It might still be easier to get one at West Marine though, not to sure.  Just let me know.

Well, the 22 is winterized, and I've been depressed and off the board for awhile. Amistad may be our best bet for a round-up. Lake Travis is 40 feet low and dropping. Who'da thunk the best water would be in the West Texas desert!

Thanks for the offer Flyn, but I went ahead and bought a prop tool.

And by the way if you ever want to come up and ride or just go hang out the base in Fort worth is very far from me.  You and k-town will definitely have to come up next summer.
