How About An Epic Round-up At Lake Travis?
« on: July 01, 2006, 00:55:50 am »
It looks like the record for an Epic Round-up is only 4 boats together at one time. Since everything is bigger and better in Texas, I'm proposing an Epic round-up for Texas Toyota owners in Austin on July 22 and 23. Austin is just a few hours from any Epic in Texas, and I know we could pull at least 5 boats, set the record, and be the envy of Epic owners everywhere  ;D

Yeah, Travis is a little low right now, but the lake is still 60 miles long and our Epics will be the envy of the hundreds of Mastercrafts, Malibus, Nautiques, Supras, etc. on the lake Saturday and Sunday. We're going to be at Lakeway that weekend and would love to hook up with other Texas Epic Owners. Who else is in?

:-\  Would love to get together sometime, unfortunately I will be out of town on the 22nd and 23rd.  Hopefully I can catch the next one!

No problem. I still haven't been to Amistad, so we'll get together down there one weekend

Myself and a couple of guys are taking my X22 down to Amistad in october.  If anyone wants to meet us down there, or on the way or whatever.
Should be a nice 85 degrees by then.  On the trip down we are gonna stop off at a few other lakes.  In all it should be 9 days or so.  ~6 days on Amistad.

Oh and I would definitely be in for a Round-up in Texas next year, or hell this year.
We still got another couple of good months on the lakes.

I live in Del Rio!  Let me know when you will be out here and we can meet up on the lake.  I normally board up the Devil's River for the smoother water, but there are a few other coves that are ok.  You can put in at Rough Canyon and it's normally pretty smooth as you head up the river.  About 2 miles up the river you will get to the Indian cliffs, after you make the bend to the left, the water turns nice and clear and it's a great place to relax and swim (water's about 4-6 feet).  In October the water should still be nice and there will probably be fewer ski boats on the water.  I've seen less than 10 different wakeboarding rigs on the lake total!  One good thing about a small town with a huge lake.

We'll make it a point to be at Amistad as long as Texas doesn't have a home football game. Let us know what weekend you're looking at.

Right now Our plan is to be there from 19th of October through the 29th.  Two weekends and 5 weekdays in between.  Although part of that time will be spent hunting during the week.
And like I said we are gonna hit a couple of other lakes and river on the way down.  So we may not get there till friday night or saturday morning.

Great, I can make either weekend!  Anyone else able to make one of the weekend days?  Out of curiosity, what and where are you hunting?  I can be flexible with everyone else's availability, so let's see if we have any other interest in a Border Round-up.

Looks like we should have at least 4 Epics that weekend.  I have a friend who just bought a 2001 X22, and lives here in Del Rio as well.  We should both be available on the 21st, so lets try to get together that Saturday.  We normally put in at Rough Canyon (at the Devil's River).  Do you guys know where that is?  If not, I can post directions and a map.  Anyone else planning to be in SW Texas that weekend?

Sorry guys,
Because of some changes at work I will not be able to get there until probably the afternoon on sunday.  But I will be there from the 22-29 though. Anyone still around during the week or during the next weekend?

I definitely want to chat you up k-town about where to go when I am down there.

If I were to come down with the fam, is there anyone willing to put us up and let us go out with ya? I have gas money but unfortunantly I would not be much help with cleaning and such since I am on crutches....  It would be me, the wife, and my 4 yr daughter...
