I can't control the Shuffle from my head unit, but if I buy the interface for my head unit (alpine) I can control my son's full sized IPOd.

The shuffle is just so small and easy to deal with.

Apple needs to develop a watertight IPOD that floats

the shuffle rocks.  the small size more than makes up for the loss of features from the full size.

I bought my son a sports case for his iPod shuffle.  Haven't tested it to see if it floats.

For my SX setup, I place my full size iPod in a waterproof ziplock bag that snaps to my windshield support.  Since I plug the iPod into my Alpine interface, the cord coming out of the bag breaks the seal but since it is hanging out the bottom, while not waterproof it still will not get wet.

I'll try to post a photo.  I may look for another place to locate the iPod (under the dash) but it is pretty convenient where it is.

The sports case was part of the deal for me. Works great, and I'll wait for Festivus or Bitzy to test floatability. I have my money on Bitzy.

Oh, that hurts! I'm gonna have to go drown my sorrows now. I'll bring the shuffle and sports case along and let you know how it fares.

Sorry, Bitz. Didn't mean to strike a nerve, it must have been a terrible thing to go through. All it takes is one big wake. Saw a couple today, dorks in 30 ft boats running around 1/2 on plane. They have no idea what that can do to a "little" boat. I dunno if I will go out tomorrow, July 4 is an idiot fest on the lake I use. I would like to ride but I may stay home and watch fireworks on TV. There's two fireworks shows on Lake Lanier, but too many dickheads. Shame. BUT, even though my sound system pales in comparison to those on the West Coast, it's one of the loudest on this lake. They hate me:) They can hear me coming and going, that helps. Loud pipes save lives.

Don't worry about offending. I dig a good joke. We're headed to the lake for the 4th but going at 5:30 am. We'll be off long before the meatheads show up. Have a good one.

So is there a diagnosis for those 30ft boat captians and their need to chew up the water?  Frickin' tardation?  Tiny-penelopia?  Or is it ugly wife syndrome and their need for an outlet?

I'd like to fire a couple of warning shots through their hull, below the waterline.

Diagnosis: small genetalia + gigantic overcompensatory ego = no ability to perform in any way. Drive a big boat, never get in the water, weigh 275 pounds, throw a lot of cash (that was earned by your dad) around, try to make it with anything in a bikini, never score, and go home drunk acting superior to everyone, but knowing deep down what a loser you actually are.

Bitz, I KNOW that dude. Around here, he has a big mouth, went to UGA, and owns a 29 foot Doral. He listens to new country and hates carpetbagging Yankees like me. He usually works in an industry like construction (Daddy's business) or beer distribution (Daddys business) or Auto Sales (Daddys business)

He goes to church every weekend to chase pussy and network and show off his new truck. He has a fat loud wife that dispenses unsolicited childrearing and decorating advice to anyone within earshot.

He REALLY hates Black Sabbath at 105 dB, which I serve up in generous portions:)

That's the one thing I don't like about ATL, it is overrun with people like that.
I try to ignore them, but it can be difficult.

If you wanna know what we're up to on the left coast, just watch MTV for a while. And Fuel, paying special attention to the Moto-X dudes and their moto-hoes in sick lifted diesels. I have no idea how one can afford a $60K truck, a $60K fifth wheel, $60K sand rail, $60K hot boat, house valued at $1M, and still have time to use the stuff. Maybe it is dad's money, but I think a lot of them are just good ole entrepreneurs enjoying an up cycle.

No daddys company or money here. Just plain ol hard work and risk. Hopefully, it pays off in the end.

By the way, I tested it last night in the bedroom and I can control the shuffle with my head unit.

I want my kids to be the ones with daddy's money.  So I work.  Oh, and my head unit output jack is too large for the shuffle.  I have to use the direct line-in feature to interface.
